JP in the news in Iowa
Monday, April 13th, 2009I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Loren Keller, a reporter from the Corridor Buzz, an online magazine about culture in and around Iowa City. He published a few compelling things I said.

A new project I am excited about: Rose City Copwatch
I plan to work with these guys in the coming months on a series of short videos about Copwatch’s Four Magic Phrases:
1. “Am I free to go?”
2. “I do not consent to a search.”
3. “I don’t want to answer any questions. I want to talk to a lawyer.”
4. And when you are copwatching: “I am here to observe. I do not intend to interfere.”
Now you know the phrases, too.
Portland, OR’s Cinema Project recently told me that they are able to sponsor me to attend the 55th Robert Flaherty Film Seminar this coming June. I am excited. I have long wanted to attend this week-long event where filmmakers, critics, curators, educators and other documentary/experimental film enthusiasts come together to think in unison.
And on May 9, 2009, the PDX Fest will screen one of my short video works, Watch me break it down. Portland’s reputation for having an engaged and active independent media community is well deserved.

Watch me break it down. (2006, digital video, 40 seconds)
