The American Civil Rights Movement on Film (Media Study 305)

intersection between moving image representation and the American Civil
Rights Movement. The course looked at well-known events from the Civil
Rights movement, as well as at radical resistance groups including the
Black Panther Party, the American Indian Movement, the United Farm
Workers, and the Weather Underground.

As guest instructor, I developed a three-week unit for this graduate and advanced undergraduate studio course on performance art.  I lectured on performance art practice during the 1960s and I evaluated a collaborative assignment about video and the presentation of self in everyday life.

Advanced Video Production (Media Study 441/503)

This advanced video production course oversaw the realization of conceptually advanced video projects in documentary, music video, and installation.  The course culminated in a final screening and exhibition at Squeaky Wheel, a local media arts center.

NYSSSA is a program for high school students in New York State who show exceptional promise in the field of Media Art.  This intensive summer course covered the basic history and theory of computer art and animation.  It also provided instruction in the use of a variety of digital media tools to produce 2-D designs, flipbooks, frame-by-frame animations, and interactive works.
