While reading this book by theater theorist Augusto Boal, I came across a passage where he describes a friend who goes to restaurants and inverts the social code that regulates how we eat.  I wondered what would happen if I too, reversed the conventional sequence of events, by first ordering coffee, then a dessert, then a main course, and so on.  I found out as I broke the social code with this tiny intervention into the rhythm of the restaurant.
